Community Call Announcements

Discussion & Demo: Gateway Domains Tuesday May 07 @ 19:00 CEST | 13:00 EDT

The team will discuss gateway domains and demonstrate how to deploy a VM on the grid and link a gateway domain to it so it is accessible from the public Internet.

Community Discussion Thursday May 16 @ 17:00 CEST | 11:00 EDT

A two-way discussion between community and team. We will center the conversation around topics which are particularly relevant (this month we are thinking TF Cooperative and TF Grid 4) and community members are encouraged to bring their own topics or questions.

Discussion & Demo: Mycelium Tuesday May 21 @ 19:00 CEST | 13:00 EDT

The team will host a discussion around Mycelium and showcase the basic functionalities and setup of ThreeFold’s end-to-end encrypted IPv6 overlay network.

Tech Updates

  • Ongoing efforts to improve system reliability
  • Improvements to Zero OS, TFChain / GraphQL, Grid-Proxy, Farmerbot, and Pulumi
  • Node Status Bot Update - A new feature to alert farmers using Farmerbot when their nodes fail to wake within 30 minutes - It also generates a report on any incidents from earlier in the minting period (Command: /violations) - Available on the staging version of the bot for now, we will move to the main version after some further testing (Link: https://t.me/staging_tfnodestatusbot)

INCA - Internet CApacity.

  • INCA Goal & Objectives - The Grid = the platform for deployment for all decentralized Web3, Edge, and AI Apps. - Lay the foundation to grow the grid to 1M nodes - Achieve service levels that allow most Edge & AI workloads to run on the grid - Establish scalable community and communications management processes
  • INCA Token - Continuation of TFT - TFT built the foundations, and INCA will enable scale on the grid. - INCA will have a 4B max cap. - INCA & TFT grants will incentivize app development, marketing, and community growth. - TFT will continue as TF Grid 3.x token and is also convertible into INCA on a fixed 1:2 basis
  • INCA launch will benefit TFT holders - INCA will be visible and high profile in an attractive sector - DePIN. - The early supply of INCA will be limited, as it is an extension of TFT – no ICO. - Demand for INCA will be reflected in its price, to the benefit of TFT, and TFT will be viewed as an attractive way to own INCA.
  • V4.0 Improvements to the Grid - Each farmer (or farming pool) will define their pricing. - Service Level Agreement management = uptime and performance guarantees = a more robust and secure grid where workloads run predictably. - A reward system in line with quality delivery. - Mycelium Network = unbreakable connectivity between all participants (this will also be for v3) – shortest path routing and important step towards scalability.

Communication Updates

Zanzalu - Weekend event at Zanzibar

  • Last weekend was the students and we had Timur talk and demonstrate how to deploy on the grid for them.
  • This weekend it will be a hands-on experience for those who would like to deploy on the grid and test it.

Transformative Impact Summit

  • It is happening from 7th June to 9th June 2024 in Zanzibar, Tanzania
  • Change-makers, Funders, & Policy-Makers from around the world
  • There will be ±40 Speakers
  • It will be a great opportunity for exposure, support, connection, and funding to enable/create a transformative impact.
  • ThreeFold will be hosting the speaker dinner and an evening event on Saturday for all attendees
